Galata Bridge 1 The Galata Bridge is lined daily with fishermen. Presumably they catch fish, but when I looked into the water under the bridge I saw only jellyfish and filth.

On the lower level of the bridge you see all the fishermen's lines coming from above and into the water. You can tug at them to make the men above think they've got something. Fun!

Also on the lower level are restaurants, each one with a host calling out to passers by. Robi, one of the people I met at the hotel, and I were walking along here and mostly ignoring or nothankyouing the hosts. One persisted: "Why don't you want to eat at our place?" he said. "We're not hungry." "It's good food." "We ate". "You think we're no good? You think my restaurant is ugly!" "We just don't--" He interrupted: "Well I think you are an ugly looking man!" True story.
