| I think each of the eleven little onion domes atop this building, whose central corridor leads to the main grounds of the Taj Mahal, represents two thousand of the workers who made the Taj Mahal. My gut feeling says this commemoration was put there not to remember the workers, but to remind people that the emperor could get thousands of people to do this sort of thing, without union contracts or lunch breaks. |
